Thoughts on this i7 Rig?

The motherboard is fine as is the rest of the build. I'd recommend considering using an Antec 300, 900 cm 590, 690, HAF or NZXT tempest. There are plenty of good cases and the ones you chose will do as well. You don't need a full tower, but may or may not be preferential to one. I'd be in favor of another 1TB drive over raptors, but everything looks pretty good. Just make sure you have an OS.

Nice build. I would also agree with going with an Antec 900 case. Your case selections are very original, but I don't know how well they do.

I also agree with Sinew. I'd go with a 1TB HDD rather than those raptors. Or maybe get a SSD solely for the OS, and keep that 1TB for media/games.

HAF is cool, but the 900.... I own it, and I don't recommend it because of its crappy HDD trays and bad cable management.

Totally would go with the HAF... But if you want to stretch your bucks a little here is a really nice one:

i just finished Mine with the NZXT Tempest and its Really nice. 2 x 120's in the front, 1 x 120mm on the side, 1 x 120 in the back and 2 x 140's on the top. This thing moves some air. These fans are not spinning really fast but they move some air. This case is WAY quieter than my old apieva case that sounds like a server cabinet! I battled back and forth between this and the Antec 900. Good luck!!

But yeah, don't do raptors and don't do SSD yet. The SLCs aren't cheap yet, and there's issues with SSDs multi-read-writing. Go with another 1 tb for sure.

I rmr raiding stuff increases the sequential write/read but does nothing for the seek. So it might not feel as zippy unless you are transferring files from place to place. Whats your monitor look like? If you are connecting this to like a little 17', it wouldn't have as much grandeur. :/ Or in this date and time, ergonomics.

I am going to vote for the CM HAF. The rest looks good, mabey consider two for RAID-1.

If you want to have a luxury case, get an ATCS 840. It's the type of thought lian li never put into thier cases and just blows all of their products away.

I personally can't stand the raven. An all plastic case? Yuck.

you should get a board with 6 mem slots and not four makes the triple channel thing better
