Does anybody know the name of a good and FREE SSL proxy server for windows? because i need it.

thank you.

What is a "SSL proxy server" in the first place? This phrase is utterly meaningless. Proxy for what? What protocol? There are ssh servers for windows, SOCKS proxies, HTTP proxies, etc.

Explain what you need to do more exactly and we can tell you what kind of server to get.

it isnt useless they want a secure encrypted proxy server

most proxies servers run as socks/http/ftp all in one (ccproxy for example)

meaningless != useless

and a "ssl proxy" is meaningless since it doesn't specify what protocol it proxies. Proxying SSL is just b*llsh*t since for example proxying https defeats the purpose of SSL in the first place.

what about for FTP or Socks, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today...

having an SSL proxy would remove the need to have a seperate form of SSL server in some form or another, yes, the obvious, you wouldnt need to SSL HTTPS, but for everything else you could, instead of having to set up asn an sFTP server or something else, you have an SSL proxy that everything gets encrypted that goes through it.

Please see how I ASKED what he wanted to do so we could better advise him.

PS: even HTTPS should be encrypted sometimes. The destination IP is in "cleartext". E.g. on a public AP, I always use a SOCKS proxy accessed via ssh tunnel, just out of principle

I go to this public library a lot. Apparently, they use 'websence' program to filter my none adult webpages. I heard that a proxy server can help me bypass this filter.

Is there a way to get around this filter?

thank you for answering my question.

We can't discuss how to bypass their security. Against our rules and against their TOA/EULA.

There are a lot of web proxies - Just google "Web proxy". No need for a full on SSL thing. Also, if you buy a Ironkey (the next step up from the "basic" version), it comes with a web proxy.

Hopefully saying that isn't violating the rules :). Nothing illegal or against most places TOS about using proxies.
