Was just on the Asus site seeing if there was a new bios update for my boards.

Socket 1944 is listed after 1156/55/1366. I imagine this is the actual pin count for socket '2011'.

No actual boards are listed but LGA 1944 is a category (support.asus.com)
 
Given that it's 2011 I imagine that's why they NDA'd it 2011.

Care to make a friendly wager? :p

Perhaps they'll release both so they can be bi-winning?
 
I'll bet that 580 says its.....

haha, j/k man. I have no proof. But the socket has matched the pins in the past. Its perplexing on the 1944 nomenclature...
