Hello, Ive recently bought a 270 for a media server and I was wondering what kind of power and heat saving are made from under clocking and what risks could b involved.

Thank You :D

P = C * V2 * f

P = Power
C = Capacitance
V= Voltage
f = Frequency.

So dropping the multiplier and decreasing the cpu frequency will drop the power drawn by cpu considerably. Less power drawn is less heat to dissipate.

It will help if you undervolt the cpu, and maybe drop it down a multi or two to reduce clock speed. But my guess is you should be fine with stock cpu settings, if you have a suitable heatsink.
