Trend Micro Internet Security 2007. It has a bundle of everything you need, comes with three licenses and has a simple good interface to filter websites and lots of child protection options. It's also very easy on system resources. I use it on every xp machine I build and when I bought my laptop, first thing I did was take norton off and put trend micro on. Huge performance boost just by doing that.

I use McAfee Enterprise 8.00 doesnt use much memory (doesnt slow down my PC and seems to catch everything, basically spyware when im browsing but that hasnt happened since i switched to FF).

PS. How about a new poll? The current one doesnt help since most people selected other, we should expand the options and revote

I prefer the AVG - Free for my anti-virus.. Works very well. I have been hearing people say that AVG will not be free after the first of the year. I believe it will still be free. They just came out with a new updated version and will not be supporting the old version. If I'm wrong, I stand corrected.. ;) Though, I hope they keep it free..

just a quote from the AVG website...

"GRISOFT is announcing a new version of the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. This new 7.5 version with improved performance and full compatibility with the latest Windows Vista version is available. Users that are using AVG Free 7.1 will be provided with a specific dialog, within the next few weeks, with the opportunity to choose the right option fulfilling their needs. AVG Free 7.1 version will be discontinued on 15th of Jan 2007."

Bit Defender Free Edition. Can't and won't touch Norton or McAfee. They're the big hitters and the slowest to update. They are also the most targeted.

I have eTrust from CA...but that is only part of a necessary, layered defense. I also use ZoneAlarm (free version), Ad-aware (free), Spybot S&D (free), SpywareBlaster (free),SpywareGuard(free),...so I don't mind paying a few bucks for eTrust. Btw...I have never been infected with a worm, trojan, malware, etc....of course I'm careful where I surf....

Yes, i recently went back to using AVG 7.5 from norton.

I've never had any problems while using it and when i've come accross a virus it's always
managed to clean them for me, plus it's probably the easiest "user friendly" one to use too.

none, anti viruses just bogg your system down, and i have yet for an anti virus to catch a real virus. dont download suspicious files, dont look at porn, and you wont have a problem.

Forgottensl8....do you have problems with your system "bogging down"? Why do you think it's because of an anti-virus program..lots of things can "bogg down" your system...Did you get hit with a virus and just assumed that all anti-virus programs are not any good because your's didn't catch it?

Do you think that porn is the only way to get hit with a virus? A virus can get you from many different directions.

What about other defensive measures...do you have a firewall...any kind of spyware programs...e-mail scanners...a virus can just as easily get you thru your e-mail....your friends may un-knowingly forward you something that has a virus.
