Pictures of what can happen when overclocking on a MB with uncooled mosfets.
Mine didn't die as dramatically as all that. About 2 hours into overclocking (didn't even have it really revved up yet!) I heard a pop then the system shut down. When I heard the pop I looked at the board and there was a very small fading glow, kind of like a sparkler going out. The system wouldn't power back up, though the fans would run, so I looked closely at the MOSFETs where I'd seen that fading glow and, sure enough, there was a pinhead-sized burn mark on one of the chips. :-/ My first, recent board without MOSFET heatsinks - and my last ...

Looks like a solid board to me. Next step up would be the 890FX boards. Not sure if they're in your price range, but they are very nice (here's why). Around the price you're looking at right now though, I'd say that's a solid contender.

SO guys, just so we're clear, this is a good mobo to get? I don't want to spend all this time returning my mobo and not being the best choice. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&AID=10446076&PID=3754110&SID=skim1132X509988
A good choice at $128 (incl shipping) and here's another option, the Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4, at $125 after MIR. The last of last generation's chipset, since it has SATA III and USB 3.0, but an excellent OC'er nonetheless. If you don't have a manufacturer's preference you can flip a coin ... ;)

Ordered the Asus and was able to make them waive the restocking fee and give me $15 off on the motherboard.
