That's a good point about the Thermalright needing to
be lapped. Every forum I attend there are posters who
receive Thermalright products that have the same
semi-circular machine marks across the contact surface.

SK-6+, SK-7, SLK-800, SLK-900 ... they all have them.

Yes the surface is always shiny. But if there are grooves it isn't
making 100% contact.
