I didn't mean to be sarcastic, sorry? :chair:

But yes, to answer your question, I did mean the AMD FX-8150 FX 8-Core Black Edition. I want something that will be a great addition to my system and ready for the 8core when it happens. I don't plan to overclock either.

Any Ideas? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't plan to overclock, stock cooling is fine.

Im sure it would be, since i have a great system case. However; I'd would like to have something in case i do decide to overlock. Whether i do or don't, it doesn't matter. As the thread asks; Which is better, The CM V6GT or the CM TPC-218 for an AMD 8 core CPU?

The 812 is the better cooler, but Bulldozer gets extremely hot while overclocking, I would personally go with something more hefty in that case, if you can afford it. H80/H100, Noctua NH-D14, etc.

Frostytech puts the 812 less than one degree behind an H80. I doubt the FX 8150 overclocked would push it more than that.
Yes I kow the testing is not "real world," it does show performance ranking if not actual temperatures. (Frostytech use a "heat source" rather than a CPU).

To the original question, the 812 is a much better cooler than the V6.
