Corsair Dominator RAM 16GB
SSD Samsung 840 500GB
HDD Western Digital 3TB Black Hard Drive
2-XFX 7950's in Xfire
XFX 1250w Psu

Cooling
EK Supremecy cpu block
Ek 7950 block (2 of them)
360 rad and 420 rad
swiftech MCP655 pump
Bitspower 250 res (pump top and mod kit also

for this system, would getting the Corsair Obsidian 900D be overkill?

No, the 900D wouldn't be overkill, but some better GPU's would be in order for a top-of-the-line AMD system. I also wouldn't trust an XFX PSU, and you would only need maybe a 1000W PSU tops. (just a guesstimate as i don't know AMD CPU Power draws off the top of my head)

Otherwise it's not to bad a system! although me being an Intel fanboy, would go intel ;P. Also what's this rig for?

Oh, it's for gaming and some rendering. I have nothing against intel just a fan of amd. O so 1200w is over kill?

Yes, You would be fine with an 800-900W PSU.
