ddr3-1600 9-9-9-24 4x2gb Is all this type of memory 2N or does some come as 1N and if so, does it make much of a difference in quad channel configuration?

All new memory have 2N just because of compatibility with different boards and chipsets. For example AMD may need 2N while Intel can run at 1N ( depends what memory and chipset ) or 1-2 sticks can run with 1N but 4 will need 2N.
