I plan to put a Silverstone FM121 in my Tuniq Tower within the next couple days. How much do you think it will drop my CPU temps?

Should I have my 2nd FM121 sucking air in through the front, or blowing air out the back?

What else could I do to lower temps?

I am also considering selling this E6600 and getting a Xeon 3060, how do those overclock compared to E6600's?

Those temps look pretty darn good to me.

nope, just about right. you could lap the heatspreader if it isn't 100% but i think you pretty much on target.

you could get to 3.5 i think. just don't freak out at the temps. as long as it's bellow 80 you can still maintain stability. surprisingly.

i really should do a write-up on that - too many ppl are scared of these temps and don't try to push their c2ds a bit higher while they shouldn't be.

i would if i could. that's not something i have experience with.

i am not sure if slvrstn fan will get you much better tems though. it might... you also should get some earplugs if you want it at full blast :p

3.4 @ 1.425V 52-55C load 12 hours orthos small fft. That is pretty nice chip and temps are good for air. What kind of case airflow do you have and what where your ambient temps?

I think you will find that trying to lower temps from here will be a brute force situation due to diminishing returns. You will have to trade a lot of noise for not much cooler temps.

More detailed information about your case ventilation, and posting the question in the cooling section would likely get more responces for questions dealing with that subject.

The CPU temps are better then fine, below average that much vcore usualy breaks into the low 60'sC with that clock (or slightly higher, like 3.6). Basily, its looking fine so far.

My house is set to 72-74 F year round.

Here is the fan situation.
I have a Thermaltake Armor:
2 92 mm Thermaltake 56 CFM Blowing Air Out
1 120mm Silverstone FN121 53 CFM Blowing Out Exhaust
1 120mm Silverstone FM121 110 CFM Sucking Air in the Front
1 25cm Thermaltake 60 CFM Sucking Air in the Side
1 Stock Tuniq Tower Fan in the Tuniq Tower, I think it does 50-60CFM

How much do u think temps will drop when I replace the 50-60 CFM Stock Tuniq fan with a FM121 110 CFM fan?

while i can't answer that question i'm very curious as to the answer becasue thats what i plan on doing as well. let us know when you do it :D

i can answer that last question now. i had a chance to test it :p

2-3C is the best you can expect. try switching the fans that you have and ran open-case so that you have the same starting conditions for both fans. i run it on the test stand though (no other sources of airflow) so your results may vary but only by a degree or two me thinks.

the problem with fm121 is that the motor housing is too large. it will block some of the airflow and create turbulence thus dropping the performance. in some cases, the turbulence is a plus but with tuniq it's just bad news.

also, the bloody thing is too noisy. by the time i tuned it down to respectable levels it was performing worse than a yate-loon and still making more noise.
