The post itself feels like it's lacking something, perhaps a slight description of every link, i don't know what I'm clicking on when I hit 'em.

Okay, I'll edit it as soon as I have some time on my hands. Right now I have an assignment to do for university :(
 
I'm wondering about that 15k seagate drive that has a 2.something ms seek time. Is it SCSI, or do they make it in a sata version? What capacities are available, and how much do they cost? I can see putting 2 or 4 of these in raid 0...

It is SAS - serial attached SCSI

You need a SAS controller card. Good thing is that the SAS controller card can take normal SATA drives too
 
The video link in the "blow torch on drive" page is dead - but I think this
is the same clip.

I like the motorcycle there . .
