As I noted earlier I ran the cpu at 10x250 with no probs with mem at 125mhrz 1:2. it is when i increased the mem mhrz is when it had errors. when I get home tonite i will take off the spreaders

WOOT WOOT!!!! These 2x512 Kingston HyperX PC3200s are pure unadultarated BH-5s!!!!!!!!!! so why cant I prime at 200mhz?

well thats AWSOME man, but

are you usign dram drive strength level one or two, if you are on one, then try two......

and what slots are you using?

OCZ 3700EL platinium 2x512

HI guys,

Does anyone have any good memory timings for this sticks?

I'm currently running on 259x10, but I'm trying to go up to 285x9. Not much luck on anything above 270x9... :-/

see if this lets you get any higher

BTW what Vdimm are you using man?

increasing Vdimm to 3.0-3.1v might help, but i woudl suggest using a fan over those EB's at that much voltage

Hi Jess 1313

Thank you for your email and for the gide. It is very nice to get help like that! :)

The RAM is EL ond not EB! 2x512

Vdimm 3.1
CPU 1.66V
bios 10/15

I will try the new settings soon.

oh oops...hehe, well, accually, though particular timings will work as well, for your EL

Jess, I have just been running prime for 2 hours at 200mhz and this time have no errors so far. Yea I am using dram strenght 1. Do ya think it could just be needing to "burn in" a little more? Like I said before it kicks memtest arse!!! Loop 5 and 8 for hours no prob. BTW I am using dimm 1 and dimm 3. Do you think my system needs just to get used to everything. Been put together for about 3 weeks running 24/7 just playing a few games while I learn about ocing. I have 3.1 volt going to the mem and running memtest or prime the chips are luke warm at best. The Venus 12 is definitely jetting some good airflow on em. Me thinks I just need to slowly keep burning them with more and more mhz. I wanna give them more juice but my 3.3 line is at 3.28, its set at 3.1 not sure if I can go higher? Suggestions on how to keep pushing?
Thanks A TON,
Joe

Isn't it damaging to the CPU to use over 3.2V or somthing? Or does the DFI not send the voltage thru the cpu? My BH-5 loves 3.5V but I dont want to kill my cpu when I get it.

Jess

I have tried your settings, thank you!

I played arround a little and now I can go to 283x9 with 2x512 OCZ 3700EL.
vdimm 3.1v ;)

With the same settings I can get 305x8 with 1x512...

But what I'm trying to do is 288 or 290x9 - 2x512! :bang head that would beat my 259x10 in overrall performance.

Anyway I send you my settings and wait for your comments.

Thanks again

raba

Jess, heres my lastest:
Ok I am using all your BH5 settings. I put the vdimm to 3.20 and my line is at 3.28 so I am prolly maxxed out with that.
the 2x512 BH5 will only go to 230HTT stable with memtest 5 & 8 over 5 times. Now for ****es and giggles I lowered the vdimm to 3.0 and got tons of errors so I know I am good with vdimm at 3.2 but IS THAT ALL I WILL BE GETTING at 3.2? 230HTT? Thought 3.2 would get me to 240-250? am I wrong? Do I need a new PSU? Its a 550w SuperFlower (it was kinda cheap).
Thanks, Joe

well, not all BH-5 is created =.....:-/.

and not all CPU memory controllers are created =(especailly not CO's)

sadly...

try the sticks individually, and see how they do.

also, what LDT multi is that at man?, and what CPU multi

well, alot of people using the AN50R, were doing an improper Vdimm mod, that caused huge Vdimm spicks, and this believed to be what was killing CPU's...

i have used 3.6+ on two A64 systems(DFI NF3-250GB, and shuttle SN85G4-V2) now for 6+ months, no problems so far....

knock on wood....:D

Jess, any ETA on the TCCD memory guide? I just installed the UT 250GB board with 1GB (2x512) OCZ EL Platinum Rev2 memory and so far I've gotten it up to 250 FSB with minor stability problems. 245 runs rock solid for now but I know this memory will do much more with the right settings.

One other thing I would like to ask is your opinion on the age old debate of which is better, low FSB with extremly tight timings or high FSB with loose timings?

Thanks!
Go Vols!

Jess, I have cpu at 10x230 with mem 1:1 and got stable with that with your BH5 timings. I just ordered the OCZ 520W Powerstream cuz I wanna send more juice on the 3.3 rail. Is 230-235 best for tight times with 3.2v (my 3.3 rail is at 3.28) and do I need 3.3 and up to hit 250? my LDT is at 4x right now, I know to make sure that stays under 1000. Lemme know! Thnaks again. Joe

What could u advice for this chips ?
HyniX D43 ( GeIL DDR PC4400 Dual Channel Kit - GEIL AMIH0411 GL3LC32G88TG-35 ) , friend of mine have them and cant get 1T eaven with 200 mhz , he tried your settings for Hynix but that didnt worked out :(.

Not trying to butt in Jess, but since I have both the OCZ Powerstream and the BH-5, I thought I should put my 2 cents in, and give back some info since I've already taken so much. :)

My OCZ lets me run 3.7v on the 3.3v rail which gives me enough to set my bios at 3.5v. That has taken my HyperX BH-5 sticks to 259. YMMV of course. I just set my LDT to auto and let the mobo figure it out. If I try to force anything higher at 259x4 LDT then I get the "disk array" message at boot.

Using Jess1313's BH-5 settings on 3Dmark2001 - 30,574 MY BH-5 2-2-2-10 1T 3.5v is beating the hell out of my OCZ TCCD 288x9 2.5-4-3-10 1T 2.9v.

Jess1313, I have Crucial Ballistix memory. Do you have maximum stable achivable timings for Micron?
