Hi all.
Just joined the forum (for many reasons....)
but the first is some advice, if I may......???????

I have a HP Pavillion ze4130 laptop, which has decided to no longer boot.
I get a message from Argon PXE Boot Agent saying blah blah blah, then
PXE-E61 Media test failure - please check cable.

Then operating system not found.

Looking at the HP website, I found this:

PXE-E61: Media Test Failure
This error message may appear when the computer BIOS is set to boot from a network and cannot find a bootable operating system on the network or on any of the storage devices included in the notebook PC's boot path.

So basically, I think the hard - drive is shot!

Sorry if this is obvious, and you think I'm a plonker. Just wanted some opinions from people who know what they are doing (as I don't!!! :) )

well assuming that you did have a look at the bootup sequence settings then well a missing os doesn't always mean a bad HD... Have you tried a bootable cd like win98 - winxp to see if you can see the HD? the os could just be corrupted and need a reinstall...

You might try asking in the storage section also, those guys live and breathe HD's

oh and WELCOME TO THE FORUMS :D
