I have a small device that came with the manufacturers name lightly stamped into the plastic. Any advice on the possibility of filling that in and painting over? I want a clean flat surface. Its ABS Plastic I believe.

A hobby store will have tubes of Testor's plastic filler, the size of Testor's glue for just such projects. Tamiya also makes some. Some place with a lot of model planes, cars, etc.. A little baking soda and super glue adheres very well to ABS but is very hard, making sanding and filing more difficult.
