Hi, I have my first pc build completed and I'm ready to order. I just wanted to run it by the forums and see what you guys think, whether it will all fit on the mobo, in the case, just making sure everything will work well together, etc.

I'm going to go ahead and provide links just in case

Well you sir have built a hell of a system. Congratulations.

Since it doesn't look like money is a problem, get better speakers, the Z-5500 are at least 5.1 so you'll have surround sound.

I don't know how impressive that SSD is, you might consider two Velociraptors in RAID 0?(1?) for about half the price and about similar performance.

I'm going with the SSD because the access time is a slick .1 ms.
However, I think I will take your advice on the speakers. Those are some pretty speakers.

I would change the heat sink. The king of the hill is still the Thermalright 120 Extreme. The downside is that there quality control sucks and the bases often needs lapped for best performance. But you can get them pre-lapped for you from a couple different vendors. It will run you about $100(including the heatsink). Match that with a Scythe S-Flex F and you will have some top notch cooling. Or just go with a zerotherm nirvana 120 and call it a day.

I wouldn't go with the SSD. Just get like two WD Velociraptors in RAID and that should be faster, and less of a pain. You wont be able to hear the drives really if you have a lot of fans ;)

really Like your rig idea, expensive, haha.

Am I missing any accessories or components? I have arctic silver 5 for applying the cpu fan, but do I need some kind of mountingg kit or stand or something to get the 2.5in SSD to go in a 3.5in drive bay? I only know the parts, I don't know what else I need.

Newegg.com charges the appropriate state and/or local sales tax for any order shipping to California, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.

I'm just taking a guess you don't live their to relieve my pain of calculating tax.
A couple of things. I could not get a shipping price for the Razer Tarantula or the Speakers...

I had a couple of suggestions in here also.. The LG dvd drive was an OPEN BOX product. Also i suggested you buy a bluray drive if you have the money.. here is the money (with shipping for most products)

Tax info if you live in the places I said at the beginning:

Does Newegg.com charge sales tax?

Newegg.com charges the appropriate state and/or local sales tax for any order shipping to California, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee. Sales tax for cell phone orders shipping to California and Tennessee are calculated before any instant savings are applied.
*Tennessee, New Jersey and New York residents are charged according to their state and/or local tax rate. Please note that the sales tax for New Jersey, New York and Tennessee orders is calculated based upon the total price of the order, including shipping and handling. The tax imposed by these states on shipping and handling is part of the state sales tax, not a separate tax.
*California residents in Los Angeles county are charged 8.25% sales tax *California residents outside Los Angeles county are charged 7.25% sales tax California orders outside of Los Angeles county are not charged for district tax because we do not have a physical presence outside Los Angeles district / county**:. The breakdown of Los Angeles county tax charges is as follows: *Sales Tax: 6.00% *County Tax: 0.25% *Combined State and Local Tax: 1.00% *District Tax (L.A. County only): 1.00%
**We cannot make any changes to the tax rate. Please refer to www.boe.ca.gov on Transactions and Use Tax Regulations, regulation 1821 sec (2) and regulation 1823 (b) Use Tax sec (1). District Taxes (sales and use taxes) pamphlet publication 44, Jan 2007.

Ok, I changed over to 2 velociraptors in a RAID0 because I think that will be slightly faster than the SSD, and SSDs are still new technology, I should probably wait until they get optimized before I think about investing in one.

lol that's cool I don't discriminate based on age.
Thanks for all the work you've done with the prices, man.

And about the drives, I'm going to take off the open box LG and just get a similar one from best buy for 10-20 bucks more.

And I really do want a Blu Ray drive, but I'm going to wait and get a BD-R drive when they are cheaper and more reliable. I have a PS3 and I love my beautiful blu ray movies, but I don't need to play blu rays on my pc when I can just play them on the big screen

And I live in Missouri, so I don't think tax is abnormal for me.

Oh yeah and for the RAM if I were you I would just get a fan to put on it.. I don't know if your overclocking the RAM or whatever, i consider DDR3 new technology so it might run hot, I don't have experience with that hardware.

Ok thanks. I just assumed the 5 or so case fans would be enough. What kind of fans would I need to look at for cooling RAM?

Wanna loan me some couple thousand of dollars? haha. Good luck on your build!

Thanks! Lol, I'm actually working all summer and penny-pinching (like not getting Sonic all the time, delicious as it is) to afford it. It is definitely going to be worth it, though. I am so excited.

I think thats good, But you will have to ask another member to approve. Are you going to do any Over Clocking?

Yeah I'm definitely going to try and overclock the cpu to about 4 GHz, and I would like to see if I can get the memory up to 1800, but that's only if I feel I need to. I'm going to test the pc's capabilities in crysis on high settings and maybe (crosses fingers) some Anti-Aliasing.
