I have to ask why you would even ask if the first cooler would work ? Gelid's cooler for the 7970 is right below it.

Then don't sell the item. $1200 "hit" ? If they were OK with me taking a $1200 hit , then I'm OK with hittin' them back if the merchandise is faulty/defective. If the customer returns it because he can't figure it out , you go get his salesperson and give him the opportunity to do what didn't get done the first time. Just sayin'.

I'm not trying to justify what they do, just saying that this is probably their biggest motivating factor behind pawning you off to the vendor.
