UD3 should not be used for an 8 core chip period. They're great for quads or a 6 core, but forget about reliably running an 8 core..even at stock the vrm's are on fire.

V 1.0, 1.1, and 4.0 (UD3P) are completely fine for an 8 core setup. I've got an 8310 running great at 4.5 on a UD3P.

I heard horrible things about 3.0 though.
 
It's a UEFI BIOS but doesn't compare to the AM1, I have one of those too. The CHV-z is just swimming in options.

Great lotsa options tolearn. Heck the asrocks at least had a simple bios.

THe AM1 asus has a lot of options too, but I see what you mean with the crosshair probably 3 times as much. Probably like 5 different vcore adjustment options. Ill be able to handle it, if I could handle old school DFIs then I could do this.
