trying it now .
OK apparently there is an xmp switch on the board . i dont know whats the point of it but its supposed to be off by default . I switched it off and I am running auto profile on memory . I,ll post back if i get any crashes
no crashes so far but in dual channel mode only 8 gb of ram is detected...
are 4 passes of memtest 86 enough ?
I am testing at stock settings
last update on this reply. memtest 86 failed half the way through the second pass... I'm returning the memory back to the seller

That would make sense considering you only have two DIMMs...

Not sure if this was covered before, but did you put the ram in the proper slots according to the manual?

Yeah I did. even tried different slots. I'll rule it out to bad memory. hopefully a different kit would fix the problem
Replaced it with an evga 4x4 sc 2400 mhz ram. so far no problems :)
