Today I got a 16gb x 2 nice kit of b die. SKU is F4-4266C17D-32GVKB

Using i7 11700, z590 msi tomahawk, daisy chain board, really wanted to try 16gb x2.

Best I've been able to do is post and run on XMP, but only if I increase SA to 1.25, RKL IO voltage to 1.25 and IO voltage to 1.15. It runs on 1T, and gear 2

I've tried running tight timings at 3600 in gear 1, with increased voltages but I'm not posting at all.

With increased voltages at xmp and gear 2 I'm not posting higher than 4266.

Looking where to go from here, either direction.

Thank you

This kit is rated for 1.5v.. even seems high

Weird note.. so I can post everytime at xmp, with 1.5 dram, 1.25 RLK, 1.2 SA, 1.15 SA.... but if increase RLK to 1.4 and SA to 1.4 with same xmp settings, I can't post.

What's your goal with this kit? Either tighten things down around 3600 again, or at the rated speeds. Same principles of your previous thread applies here. ;)

Switch to gear2 and tighten things down at 3600 or do the same at 4266. Leave SA on auto and see if that's what you're tripping on.

Like E_D says same as last time, leave things on auto in gear2 and see what happens. That kit is rated for 1.5V and might need a touch more for stability. I would use HWMonitor to see what voltages SA etc.. you're getting in Windows then adjust in small increments to try and find stability.

2x16GB Samsung B kits barely ever work at more than DDR4-4266 and at DDR4-4000+ already need higher voltages. I had some 2x16GB DDR4-3600 kits and all of them were hitting a wall at DDR4-4133. After some time I decided to buy the highest binned kit which is DDR4-4400. So, my DDR4-4400 kit runs at ... DDR4-4400 but can't boot at anything higher. Like randomly can boot at DDR4-4533 but after a restart, it doesn't work.
In short, keep it at DDR4-4266 and try to work with timings. I'm able to set quite tight timings but this is Samsung so will require higher voltages.
