I have an AXDA1700 DUT3C K1XHB
I cannot get this system to go any faster than 175MHz FSB, i can ramp up the multiplier, even max it out at 12.5 if I push the vcore up to 1.8

I have changed the system board from an A7V333 to a A7N8X deluxe, I have changed the memory out to Corsair XMS4000 at 500MHz I even bought a new CPU water cooler block which pushed the temp down below 40C even with the 1.75 vcore but still, 2100 is about the limit.

The only constants here are my 350Watt Case PSU and the CPU itself.

seeing how many people managed 2300-2400 on just air is crazy, I'm getting memory test fail if I so much as try to make the RAM run at 250MHz in Dual Channel, Have to back down to 233.
lower multiplier with higher MHz makes no difference, 175 is about the limit.
I guess I'm just maxed out since just one or two more MHz will cause it to fail POST or just reboot in Windows, the 12.5 multiplier gives me memory test fail on POST if I don't up the voltage to 1.8 (too much heat)

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated, it took me a while to swap out the CPU, mem and water block since I thought they were my limiters, now I'm puzzled.

WCPU reads 2104MHz, 175 system clock, 350MHz DDR 12x multi.

check the psu under Full load with a VMM and your ram should run at its advertised speed no matter what

Yup, I'm the proud owner of a Athlon 64 3800 x2 - still haven't overclocked it yet though - really needs XP64 or Vista.

I gave that 1700 which wouldn't OC too well to my daughter.

haha soon enough, i'll b bringing back tbird threads from the dead

i'm serious. i bought a 1200 for like 15 bucks, i'm gonna c how far it can go b4 it dies hahaha.

Maybe next time this thread is revived, AMD will have overtaken intel with Quad Core x64 5GHz CPUs

<rubs magic ball> ...or something resembling one...

Funny thing is my 1700+ is still kicking like a champ in my old man's machine running win95 with massive 256 mb of Ram.

Resurrection, I have just taken my friends box back I sold him 6 yrs ago, XP1700 w 1gb ram running XP Pro, it is being replaced with a 790GX AM3 board and a X2 550 w 4gb of ram and an Enermax 485watt psu, they will be amazed, however this system still works and can surf okay but thats it lol
