I just did the research on this topic. It basically came down to what you want it to do.
If you want to OC or game go with one of the ASUS or Gigabyte FX boards. If you don't want to do either go with one of the ASUS or Gigabyte GX boards. The big difference is that the GX boards come with onboard graphics. This causes the PCI-E to be a bit weird. I don't game so I went with the ASUS GX USB3 board. I chose it over the Gigabyte because I wanted the X4 slot as a just in case. The onboard graphics suffice for a 1080P LCD. One, I think, oddity of this board is that it doesn't have a four pin connector for an optical drive. You might also want to get a PWM fan for the CPU cooler. The fan that I'm using, until Saturday, has a noticible hum.
Microcenter is pricey. Can your parents order it for you online? Have it delivered to them. Get it to you the same way they would from Microcenter.
