IBM has been working on some VERY HIGH resolution screens. They have developed black and white LCDs with densities of 600 dpi up to 1200 dpi. These are targeted for viewing X-Rays remotely by doctors/specialists.

Unfortunately, LCD screens--even 17" ones (I wouldn't be interested in anything smaller)--are still too pricey for me. I will have one eventually, though.

I remember that not too long ago 18.1" were more expensive than that!

Wish I had bought one these instead of the crappy 34" Ultra Wide Screen 3440x 1440...

Honestly I can't remember last weekend let alone 2003:p

Why the Necro thread revival?:D I am darn curious...

Just to show them "kids" how easy they have it now.
I remember when I got my first 20" 1600x1200 LCD - must have been 3-4 years later. Paid $800 for it and that seemed like great deal at the time.

I paid over $300 in 2005 for a no name LCD which I think was only 19" 1280x1024

Wow a 20 year old necro. Is this a record? I was 9 years old in 2003 lmao

Haha, gramps! That makes you...younger than me.

I wish 4:3 monitors were still "a thing". Even 16:10. Sometimes it's nice to have the added vertical space without the wider screen.
