I have not toyed with the idea of cooling yet, Im still amateur at computers... If Liquid Cooling isnt too expensive or hard I might consider it, or just use some nice air cooling or what not. Tell me what you guys think, i know most of you know more then me about computers. This is my third custom computer. Im basicly looking for something rather futureproof, I like to game alot, ill open up PhotoShop or other misc programs here and there, I do pretty much anything, mostly Gaming.

Well straight off I think the xaser is ugly. But that's just asthetics, if you're thinking of going SLI that power supply is not going to be enough IMO Especially since that duel core might have problems running off of only 18 amps. Think about getting a sparkle 550, a powerstream 520 or a PCP&C 510. And I don't really think that ram is worth it... but it's your money. As for cooling... it depends what you call expensive. If you're not going to seriously overclock water cooling really isn't worth it unless you just like the asthetics.

Ok well if you could give me some links to some really nice solid quality cases that be nice... I think of clean/simple/sharp/easy when I look at cases I like.

Well I dont plan on going SLI for now or probably for a whlie, I figure 600W PSU is good enough to power all of the stuff. Specifications wise I honestly am still learning whats all good about PSU's and what to look for. Links help me as well.

Well I was told that those 1GB sticks are the best, and in some games today, they are using more then 1GB of memory usage. So thats where I came up with the idea of these. I personally dont think I can tell the difference between timings and mhz very well so mabey I picked the wrong stuff???

I think I agree with you on this one, im too inexperienced to even try Watercooling myself I guess. I dont hardcore overclock like some people on this forum do :p That could be just because I lack the knowledge and complete understanding of OCing or I just plain out cant tell the difference.

Eww, drop the case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ATT=Cases+Computer+Cases&CMP=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r OR http://www.nextwarehouse.com/prod.cfm/177509/P180

You either buy two video cards now, or forget about SLI. About 75% of the people here would tell you the same thing. But one 7800GTX could beat two 6800GTs. If you drop SLI, you can buy a cheaper motherboard. If you don't plan on overclocking, you can buy a different more stable motherboard such as an ASUS or MSI.

For a dual core and a 7800, the Enermax isn't that great. I know the 600W looks appealing, but you should either go with OCZ Powerstreams or PCP&C ones. An OCZ Powerstream 520W should be fine if you don't go SLI. If you have enough money, the PCP&C 510 works great. Here's a good idea of what nVIDIA recommends for PSUs on SLI: here

For the ram, yes 1GB is fine. But you should look for dual channel 2x512 ones. It comes in a pack of two. Depending on your budget, you can go look at brands from OCZ, Corsair, or Mushkin. The Mushkin Redlines are the best if you have a good budget.

Water cooling can cost 4x as much as air. You can buy good heatsinks and a few fans for about $60ish, but a whole set of good water cooling would be in the hundreds. For air cooling, go with a Thermaltake Sonic Tower, or a XP-90C.

What kind of budget are you working on? It would help us decide on what's a perfect price/performance ratio for you.

Ok we'll ive gave this some thought.

As far as the Case, the Lian Li's have been looking pretty attractive I have my eye on either one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129154, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112040, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112024

Im gonna take the advice on the OCZ PSU.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16817104152 ill go with that one everyone seems to be in agreement with this.

Motherboard im gonna go with ASUS, my previous computers used this mobo. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E1681313151

As for the RAM, 1GB sounds like plenty for now I guess im in agreement, I have my eyes set on http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820145450. Stable respectably cheap CORSAIR XMS ram.

Ive always used Stock Cooling on my computers, and Ive never really had a problem, when I do have a problem I upgrade cooling, but if you ask me todays society in computers the stock cooling some computers come with arnt exactly the cheap **** the used to come with back in the day. The stock fan/heatsink on CPU's and such can be fairly effective.

Ive also been considering going with a AMD 64 3700+ San Diego Core, X2 are nice they cost a bit more and I think the noticiable difference is very small with todays applications.

Budget? Ide like to keep it under 2K, however If i feel that spending the extra dollar over 2K makes up for what im getting, I will not hesitate.

more or less a lie..

the psu will do great. (otho for something like all that much money.. pcp&c would work almost better)

the case..ok..some were ..afew pages back is the worlds largest thred..based on the xaserIII , otho it kinda moved into allmost a all around thred.. its gots tonne of info.

and since i was with the thread from when it started.. (last year when the xasers came out) ..i would say , they are nice cases..but way to much modding for jusst normal stuff.. .

for the ram (it just brings up the ram list..so model showen..
so http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146890 i guess is some nice ram.. (1gig)

also why dont u get a nice topoftheline dvd bunner? they can read and write in all formats ..or heck if your lucky..find a sata one. (not that it matters for speed..but they are better for wire managment)

think thats all coverned.. did i miss anything? o yeah..heatsink .

i think unless your extreame.. (water or better) get a xp-90C . since as far as i know..those x2 cpus (never seen any yet.. getting one next month) make a lot of heat...

Can I request this Thread Moved to AMD Forum please? I Seem to be getting less responsed then I wanted
