Everything looks good, you will have an ultimate gaming system, it will take games a long time to catch up to this hardware to utilize it fully, once you build it let us know how it performs, post some benchmark scores, also let us know how the overclock went, with that mobo and NH-D14 you should be able to hit 5Ghz unless you get unlucky with the cpu chip.

OPnly thing i would say is that your Memory is WAY overkill for gaming, BUT you said you wanted the ultimate, and your certainly getting it, only way you MIGHT get better, is lower CAS memory, like some cas 7 if you can find it for the same price, then again with all the revisions, just go guy it...

Good point fundip i would go with that ram too 1600mhz is plenty and timings are really nice, is ram made for p55 compatible with p67 mobo ?

Honestly Im going to go with vd gamers advice He is very right that memory would look amazing On that motherboard.

ddr3 is ddr3. if a ddr3 ram module is not compatible with a motherboard designed for ddr3 then either the ram or the motherboard is garbage.

K well I actually have one more question. I keep hearing that it wil take a few years for games to even catch up to the computing power I am going to have right?? Well If anything what cant i do with this system?? Like is there anything that I couldnt accomplish Because of my components and hardware??

Theocnoob What video card would you recommend?

Depends on what you want to spend. GTX 570's are fantastic. .

The price for performance king in most people's opinion right now is the AMD6850. It's much cheaper.
AMD cards tend to push a few more frames for the money. They also have really annoying drivers and software. Nvidia cards yield a few less frames for your dollar but give you hardware Phys-X capability and the drivers and software are really great. Nvidia cards are also better for parallel computing, if you ever wanted to do that. Things like protein folding, for example. (look up Fold@home). My Nvidia 8800GTSg92 has been completely issue and headache free for the three years I've had it. Overclocked significantly too. I got a 6870 AMD card a month ago. Performance is nice... drivers and software really annoy me. Not that they don't work, they're just really poorly layed out.

As for the CPU, 2500K is 4 core no hyperthreading, 2600K is 4 core with hyperthreading. 4 simultaneous threads vs 8. If you only want to play games, you can get away with the 2500 and save almost $100.

The build you have layed out a few posts back is EXCELLENT. I say do it.
Add a soundcard. ;) Meridian 2. Asus Xonar STX if you want to run good headphones.

if it is just for gaming save some money with an i5 2500k cpu. sound cards are unnecassary with modern motherboards.

I could not disagree more. I've never met an onboard audio solution I could tolerate. If you have really cheap speakers or a cheap headset sure. If you want to use a more decent audio setup, either get a soundcard, or run SPDIF to a receiver.

You would almost certainly be unable to run the control system for the Death Star. Otherwise you're good.

If you're unsure about whether you'd like to run the Deathstar or not, might want to move up to a Rampage 3 Extreme, 12GB of RAM, a 970 or 980x CPU and 2 GTX580's in SLI.

** I'm a total noob at this, so please take my suggestions with a grain of salt. This is just what I've read, I have no practical experience **

Two Asus GTX 470's in SLI should beat a single 570 by a significant amount. Heat and noise are a concern though. After rebate, the 470's are $230 or so each, so it's also more $, but you'll see something like a 50-60% FPS increase. Also, the 470's are good overclockers, better than the 570's, from what I've read.

Also if you're getting a mobo that supports 3 way SLI (Asus WS rev), you might want to future proof it with a slightly larger power supply if you think you'll ever run three power hungry cards. If you plan on sticking with a single 2D monitor, then I doubt you'll need three cards anytime soon though.

@steve71 since your new to this stuff, take advice from me and im sure everyone here will agree, video cards are the fastest aging component in pc, especially if you game so its best to go with newest model you can afford. His power supply can handle 3 470s or 570s so hes fine there, we already discussed that in previous posts

single 570 is $100 cheaper so going 470 sli even with extra performance isnt that great of a deal, as you said heat and power consumption is a big factor also, plus single 570 will handle anything he throws at it for now, and when he needs more performance in future he can get another 570 for sli which will be much cheaper then, so why take step backwards with older model cards if its $100 more and unnecessary? if it was the same price for 2 470 with extra performance over 570 than maybe it would be worth going with 470s (like for me 2 5770 were about the same price as one 5870 and they usually beat single 5870 in most cases, unless game scales badly than boost from second card is reduced, but they were close in price when they came out, and newer models 6xxx were not even announced yet so it was woth it)

No argument there vdgamer, unless he intends to do surround and/or 3D (stereoscopic) a single 570 should be fine.

$100 more for 50-60% FPS increase seems like a pretty good deal, but only if you need it and/or you want to put off upgrading for a bit longer. And even then you could still add a 3rd 470 and some ear plugs. :p

I'm going from memory here, but I thought an OC'ed 570 is only about 10-15% faster than an OC'ed 470, not such a good deal when you consider the $150 price difference. BUT heat and power consumption is less, which might be worth it for some.

Once again, I'm a noob who's just done a bit of reading up on the subject, but with no practical experience with either setup. And as they say, a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. :D

I just don't see the 570 as being a good deal, perhaps I'm missing something. It seems opinions go both ways on that one. :)

A family member once woke me up at 4am with a 'pc emergency' because he had to get some work done and was pulling an all nighter.

"I've checked everything it won't turn on"

I drove there. At 4am.

It was not plugged in to AC power. :screwy: :bang head

So you're good.

Haha! I once saw a bumper sticker that read, "No I won't fix you PC". I think you need that sticker.

If I ever got a bumper sticker it would be "My other ride is your mother". It actually exists. I don't want to get shot though.

Back to your computer. I think you'll definitely be very happy with that config you had back there. It'll run really nicely. :)
