So I've been having this problem for almost a year now. My Internet on my desktop will randomly disconnect even though the connection is fine (none of my other hardwired devices will disconnect) and then I will go to restart the computer and it will get stuck on the restarting screen. I just installed windows 8 instead of windows 7 to see if it was something wrong with my operating system, but still the problem remains with windows 8. Im assuming its a hardware issue because of this, but what would it be? Is the built in ethernet adapter on my Intel Xtreme Motherboard faulty? Any help for this is greatly appreciated.

Here's my setup
Intel i7-3770K
Intel Desktop Extreme Motherboard
Nvidia Geforce GTX 570
16GB Corsair DDR3 RAM 1600Mhz
180GB SSD with the operating system on it
500GB HDD x 2 with programs and data

I would look at either the motherboard or the PSU as being the problem.

In my opinion,,
Download memtest and the diagnostics for your hdds.
With just the psu/mb/cpu/ram/ssd/vcard see if you can get into Windows.
If you can't, run memtest, if you can run the diagnostics for the hdds after you hook em back up.
If both pass, do a clean install of os.
