The IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) has been around since before the AM2/AM2+ days so there is no memory controller on his motherboard. And it is also true that all socket AM3 CPUs have a memory controller that is downwardly compatible with DDR2 ram so theoretically it works. The problem is that his bios doesn't recognize the CPU he is trying to run.
evenually i plan to get a new PC alltogether.
I want to try and get a barebones...but i may have to settle for am OEM pc
I'm sure their mobos are far more advanced than this comp's.
