Merging PDF files and Printing to a PDF fille in Firefox

I know Abobe Acrobat can do the following 2 things as I own an older version of it about 7 yrs old I believe. However, I'd like to see what is out there for free, and I searched but didn't find exactly what I was looking for

1. Ability to merge to PDF files into 1 file (allowing one to specify the order in which the PDF files will appear in the merged file). I don't want online softare. I need standalone software for this

2. Ability to print content I see in my FF web browser to a PDF file. I currently can't do this.

Can't think of anything, but maybe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDF_software will give you some ideas. Good luck!
