Overall socket question

Hello bros. I've got a question, which is kind of wierd, but I'm new to this stuff.
So, for example I would buy this: Noctua DH-D14
And okay, It's for LGA1366, LGA1156, LGA1155, LGA775, AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+ and FM1.
And here's my question. If I would buy a 2011 socket processor, I will have to buy different cooler, or I will just have to buy something that will give me option to use it at 2011 socket?

They make a specific 2011 cooler.

It looks like you can order a mounting kit that will work on 2011 platform for free, if you already have another noctua cooler and switch.

That would be on a case by case basis.

Maybe I'm missing something but I say, pick your socket and then get the appropriate cooler for it.
