So I know right around 0 about overclocking a cpu, all I know is that I want my games running better and to do that I need to overclock this thing. Let me know what you need to see spec wise/screenshot wise, here are current system specs:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

RAM: 8 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 669MHz

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. GA-870A-UD3

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti

Power Supply: 700W

I'd like to get my cpu up around maybe 3.5, I'd like to go as high as possible but I need this to be simple because I have zero experience in it. I assume you guys would recommend overclocking with bios, if there's a simpler way that is similar with a program I can just grab that would be best, but whatever works. Right at this second, with War Z running in the background and spotify, as well as chrome up it's running at 35-36 degrees Celsius according to speccy. I do have water cooling, not sure about the specifics.

Here's some potentially useful pics, not sure:

Welcome to the OCF AMD forum section...

1. Welcome to OCF. :welcome:

2. Getting a baseline to know where one is...is the first thing to do.

3. To get the baseline done and get the information in front of those you are asking for help:

These are the types of information that most users supply in order to be able to help them very much. I never capture full screen images since that makes the informational image too too small out in the middle of the full screen.

And this is screen capture of HWMonitor (free version) from CPUID com
HWMonitor has been scrolled enough and large enough to show Min/Max of Voltages and includes the CPU CORE TEMPS fully visible.

This capture is made of HWMonitor after it has been open on the desktop logging Min/Max temps and voltages while Prime 95 was running Blend Mode test on all cores for at least 20 mins and then the capture of HWMonitor was made and it shows the Min/Max temps and voltages before P95 Blend was started and while running P95 Blend mode and gives much greater insight into how the system is performing without guessing.

In order to attach screenshots of images as suggested, first crop and capture the images with Snipping Tool found in Windows Accessories or equivalent. Then click on Go Advanced, a button at the bottom of every new post window. Then click on the little paperclip tool at the top of the Advanced post window when it opens. Clicking on the paperclip tool brings up the file browser/upload tool and the rest is fairly obvious.

Hopefully I'm helping, as I'm still a noob around here. Got the same CPU as u but diff BIOS/mobo- also trying to figure out more about OC'ing. My thread is here.

Have u seen these?:

^ This tutorial claims to get ur speed up without having to touch any voltage controls. Probably an easy first step. I tried it, but my BIOS has different functions/controls. Still trying to figure it out.

This ones seems a bit more complicated. Trying to soak it up now:
