Hi guys here's the system I recently setup and I'm not too happy about my power supply so I figure I give it a change.

i7-2700k Sandy
P8Z68-M (the mini-boards)
8g 2 sticks 1666 DDR3 rams
1x Ati HD 6850 (No crossfire)
usb wired keyboard
logictec usb wireless mouse
1x 7200rpm Seagate barracuda
no BD/DVD Rom
occasionally plugin my USB mobile harddisk or my iPhone/iPad

as you can see I don't really draw much power. I found a nice calculator that'll calculate how much power u need here:
http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp

and it turns out I need no more than 372w~425w so does that mean I can safely buy a 500w power supply?

I live in Japan so we have alot of weird brands I never even heard of. I currently have a keian 650 gori-max power supply, this is a Japanese made budget power supply, it's the only cheap one with japanese made capacitors so I picked this one.. anyways a friend of mine needs a new power supply so I figure I'll give him this one and I go buy another. According to the sales guy when I bought the Keian PSU he said Keian is one of the cheap brands in Japan and he said he wouldn't rely on it too much.

I'm looking at Antec Green, or Corsair 650TX, and another brand name Scythe, they all go about the 60usd~80usd range and I can't decide which to bye.

I'll be doing some over clocking. Nothing major. Just from stock 3500 to 4500.

Here's a couple that I'm interested in:

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/getplus/2268104/
600w Scythe RPX600 $48

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/pckoubou/1000-4541995030673/
550w HEC Win power 3 $50 I've never heard of these guys but the box looks pretty @_@

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/excellar/20364828/
500w Enermax STA-500 (I heard this is a high quality good brand in Japan) $55

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/ecjoy/830777/
600w Scythe Core4-600

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/dtc/0761345106962/
650w Antec EA-650-Green (Green series, enery saving, does that mean it's bad for Overclocking?)

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/joypre/1219090/
500w Silverstone SST-ST50-ES (I heard silverstone is good in the US?)

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/murauchi-denki/4560167555752/
550w Thermaltake (This one looks really good) $70

And finally.....

http://item.rakuten.co.jp/pctwotop/213730/
650w Corsair 650TX (This is the best I know.. but I think it's overkill) $82

I really want to buy the corsair 650TX but I think it's a bit overkill for me as I don't need all that power it seems. Since I'm on an M version mobo there won't be any future expansions and I'm not looking to do Crossfire...

My 2nd pick would probably be between the :

500w Enermax STA-500 $55
500w Silverstone SST-ST50-ES $62
550w Thermaltake SP550M $70

And I'm really thinking of getting the Thermaltake one, can you guys shed some light? ^__^

I don't think that "Enermax STA-500" is actually made by enermax. It's listed as "Enermax STA-500 By CoolerGiant" on the retail site I found. It also does not have good specs. Cross it off the list.
Enermax lists themselves as the manufacturer on their units.

The Silverstone unit really is made by silverstone and is a very good price/performance, per this review: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/SilverStone-Strider-ST50F-500-W-Power-Supply-Review/548/10
Hardwaresecrets does an excellent job of PSU reviews in my opinion.

The Tt SP550M has yet to be reviewed, I've looked at a couple of the non-modular Tt "Smart" series units, they're decent, but the Silverstone looks to be better.

If you can't afford the Corsair unit, grab the silverstone. It's a known-good unit.

Looks like the Silverstone is about $60 for you? That seems fine if you don't want to spend the extra $20 for the Corsair. I think both are a good deal, and the Corsair would give you more headroom for future expansion if you're planning on overclocking more or getting a beefier video card in the future.

About the enermax one, here's the product page on the Japanese Enermax site.

http://www.maxpoint.co.jp/product/stability.html

It's called maxpoint for them but the enermax label is still on it, it's a discontinued product that was made in 2010 Jan. Is this the coolergiant one you speak of? I'm looking at various PSU lists and I can't even seem to find this at all.

However I like your input about the silverstone!
http://item.rakuten.co.jp/joypre/1219090/

this one is the one I found on my local stores, I guess I'll go ahead with this one!

Can I have your thoughts on the Earth Green series from antec? I hear good reviews but a friend on mine that works at a computer store says it's a budget PSU it's not really that great....

That enermax is the one I was looking at, I still don't like the rail layout and wattage caps, regardless of who makes it :D

Antec doesn't make any bad units these days. The Earth Green bits are indeed budget units, but they're budget quality units rather than budget junk units.

I'd still get the Silverstone.

I can't find any reviews of it that I can make heads or tails of.
From reading the specs and translating from PSU speak to reality, it looks pretty good.
There's what looks to be an official report of the unit from the 80+ people, though it isn't listed on their site for some reason.

I have yet to see a platinum rated unit that isn't at least a good unit. I'd say go for it.
I know that price range is attainable, Antec makes a platinum 450w unit that runs ~$100 here in the US. Your prices seem to be lower than ours.
