im looking to upgrade my ram from 4gb to 8 gb. i currently have g skill rip jaws 10666 1333 ddr3 ram. my motherboard specs says that is the type of ram to use. but i cant find ram in that speed. could i use a different speed such as thishttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231666
this isnt exactly what i had in mind but just an example. so to sum it all basically asking am i limited to what my motherboard calls for or could i use ram with higher speeds?

That board only supports up to DDR3-1333, so if you were to install higher speed RAM like the DDR3-2400 you linked to, the PC will either not POST or the BIOS will down-clock the modules to their rated frequency (or lower depending on the current FSB). And I'm not sure why you can't find DDR3-1333, since Newegg alone carries 83 different kits...

Before we go any further what OS are you running there??? Why because if its 32 bit then that limits your amount of Ram, if its 64 bit which i doubt that would allow you the full 8GB! Either way Redduc will put me right on that, but this should be good to go. AJ. ;)
