I'm a little bored, maybe you are too so lets have a little fun :D
Basically the goal of the thread is to be proud of your AMD CPU :)

All ya gotta do is state your current CPU overclock, and if you want, DRAM too. Doesn't need to be Prime or LinX/IBT stable for 80 hours, just state what you run 24/7 and maybe what ya do daily.

I'll go first.

I've got an 8150 on water that runs 5 GHz @ 1.5v and 2.6 CPU-NB @ 1.3v with DDR3 2133 7-7-6-20 1T in a gaming machine. Heat gets the best of it, but 4 hour Prime @ 4.76 / 2.6 / 2000 7-7-6-20

I've also got a 965 on stock cooler running 4 @ 1.4v and 2.6 CPU-NB @ 1.1v with DDR3-1600 6-8-6-20 1T in a secondary gaming machine. I browse the web most of the time though on this machine. :D

I have a 2600K too...buuuut :p

Your turns :)

i have a 955 on the stock cooler at 4013mhz 1.42v/1600 my timings arent nearly as good as yours though 9 9 9 24 although at 3.7(i think) i had my ram stable at [email protected] i just turned it down because recently i came up on alot of oc headroom so i turned it down in the interest of clock speed.(not sure where it could go i dont know much about ram)

I have 8120 at 4GHz in H40 (know it is bad, but still cools it down for me, 59C for 4hrs blend prime). Maximum temp i get during my daily use do not go over 50C. It runs @ 1.36V, 2.2 NB @ 1.25. DDR3 1600MHz 8-9-8-24.
In a month time I plan to get Noctua DH-14 (the MASSIVE cooler), then I can play a bit more.

"IF IT CAN GO FASTER, IT MUST"

24/7 - 8150 @4.4 cooled by antec k920 :ty:

I run my 960T on 4 cores at 4080MHz, 240 FSB x17, VCore set at 1.38 in BIOS, LLC pushes to 1.44 max. P95 overnight stable (but Windows needs a reinstall, and I need a new HDD). Memory is set at DDR3 1600MHz, 9 9 9 24 33 2t (Stock freq. and timings), on the 3:10 divider. Socket temp is around 65 max, cores hit around 49-51 max depending on ambient temps.

I couldn't get more than 3.6 out of her on just the multi without 1.5v or more. Runs much cooler this way.

I use this system for everything, from basic text editing and web browsing, to playing games and fixing other people's computers. Nothing too demanding, but the overclock helps me be more productive, as I'm not often waiting for anything to load

Oh, and nobody I know has a faster, more responsive system. Woot!

my thuban is at 280x14.5=4060mhz @1.45v 24/7 idles at 32c full load 49-50c cooler buy Zalmann she will run 4.1 but have to bump the voltage to 1.55 and temps get to over 70c then system shuts down. duu lol . fsb and nb both running 280x10@2800mhz with ram runing 933(1866mhz) 9-9-9-28 i run dual channel unganged for 17gbs bandwith vrs the slow dual ganged at 12gbs the eficiancy is only 60% but who cares if im geting 5gbs more bandwith. love the 990fxa chipset so cant wait to see what vishera is gona do in this baby! anywho run my thuban at 4060 hours upon hours playing goast recon future soldier, the witcher 2 , ff14 ,dmc4 -all maxed out on my full 1080p 24" ASUS moniter. with out so mutch at a hickup no dumps what so ever i love it allways ben a AMD fanboy since the old amd athlon xp's. mutch more bang for youre buck vrs those over priced fishing sinkers cough cough!

GG 24_7.jpg

I run these speeds for 24/7 but I have taken the 8120 up to 5.3Ghz on my water cooler, and transcoded Blue Ray to 720P H.264 on all 8 cores at 4.8Ghz

I'm anything but bored! I got my new CM TPC-812 today and installed it. :D I was running my 965-BE @ 4.0 ([email protected]) with ram @ 2800 @ 1.3v with FAH running 24/7 and temps never going over 61. :p When I fired back up they went to 65! I've since backed my OC all the way back to 3.8 and still sometimes hit 62! So I guess I'm gonna' hafta back off some more. :-/ Does anybody have any "guick" burn-in tips? I don't want to wait 200 hrs. for this AS5 to burn in! Guess I may have to though. First time I've ever loaded a reply with the "little guys". Guess I am a little bored after all! :comp:

I'm running my ram at 1.25v ...maybe that will get your temps down. Also, keep your MB temps in check.

I tried lower volts and it "fluttered" in Windows. Didn't blue screen, but came close. I've been running an hour and then shutting down for 15 minutes or so and my temps are falling back into the high 50's. After a few more times of that I think I'm gonna' start easing her back up to 4.0. Thanks for the advice though!

P.S. This screen shot is from earlier.

a quad core draws less amps than an octo core.
cpu temp line in hardware monitor is your socket temp.

What ram you using Beep

Post says 2000-7-7-6 now, that'd be Hypers.

I don't have an AMD box in action right now, when I did it was a FX8150 at 4.1GHz on the stock cooler with a slight undervolt.
Crunched four threads of WCG/Rosetta 24/7 on that thing, it did great.
Eight threads ate too much ram, but that was OK as more than 6 threads slowly overheated anyway.
Ram was 2000-9-11-9 stuff.

That system was really quite nice and responsive.

I meant to ask you if you knew why CPU temp shows a lot less than core temp.

its also due to your cooler
my H100 keeps my core temp alot cooler then my CPU temp
so when i hit a heat wall my cores are only at ~45c wehn my CPU temp is at ~55

It's funny you say that right at this time. I am in the process of OC'ing my A8-3870K and my CPU temp is 57 but my core tem is only 52. It usually starts shutting down at 60, so I think I'm OK. I put a Hyper 212 on it and I'm up to 3.492Ghz. Not to bad, I guess. There's not much info on clocking these things, so I'm just playing it by ear.
