XP-90C for the w1n. Other option is the SI-120, which is better than the XP-120 and not being discontinued to my knowledge. Either way I'd still go with the XP-90C.

The SI-120 is better than the XP-120?

I've been comparing all three for a long time now, and never concluded which was best. I always sided with the 90C just cuz of its smaller size.

Anyone know the order of which produces lowest temps to highest?

Is it:
XP-90C lowest temp, then SI-120, then XP-120? All probably within 0.5C, but just curious as well...

Sounds interesting gOdM@n but either way you can't go wrong, just get the one that best fits in with your system 65stang.

i love my xp-90c i never see my processor more than 3c above the case temp at full load. at idle it runs at case temp

They are fairly close.... I thought I read a review of the SI-120 being better than the XP-120, but I can't find it now. (In fact I find the opposite)

This review puts the SI-120 behind the XP-120 by 1C load:

This one presents the XP-90C/XP-120/SI-120:

Then there's this one:

The XP-120 and XP-90 get basically the same results with the XP-90C only beating them by just over 1C.

Ah heck, they're all kinda the same, get which ever you like best..... I'm going 939 pretty soon, and am planning on getting an XP-90C. (Just FYI)

I'd say the best in PURE performance would be the XP-90C, followed by XP-120, then SI-120. The XP-90C would give you the lowest temps possible, but it'll only be around at MOST 0.5-1.5C better then the XP-120, and because of that temp difference, you might as well go with a quieter 120mm fan, the XP-90C's noise/performance ratio isn't too good.

From most reviews, it shows the SI-120 to be 1-2C worse then the XP-120, due to its shape and size. The SI-120 should be able to fit in ALL motherboards because of its height and placement, but the XP-120's fins are a tad lower with more heatpipes, which might interfer with RAM placement or other parts of the motherboard.

If you don't care about noise at all, go with the XP-90C.
If you want something that performs SLIGHTLY worse, but should be much quieter and can cool the other parts of your motherboard due to the larger 120mm fan, go with either the XP-120 or SI-120. Check thermalrights website to see which fits your motherboard.

I feel like the SI 120 is the best choice... I may pick one up for my 2ndary rig. I have an extra stock Opteron dual core cooler tho.... should I use that? (hope this isn't threadjack...)
