Xeon X5650 in Shuttle SX58J3 Barebones system?

Hi, I am building a little server and I like the Shuttle SX58J3 system very much. I also like the Xeon X5650 which is probably the highest performing CPU / $ available now aside from its smaller Xeon siblings. Is this compatible? Shuttle will only confirm the i7s are compatible with the X58 mobo; and I've heard mixed things, some say it should be compatible, but no one seems to have tested and posted results. Anyone have more info?

Seems the 990x is listed on the cpu support showing that it has some sort of westmere 6 core support but any more then that I am unsure.
