Later on our first day, we stopped by to visit the Cherry Suite in the Venetian Hotel. Inside, they had several items of note, showing off the keys they are famous for, and some new products as well. Since we last talked with Cherry, they acquired XTRFY (a renowned manufacturer of components and peripherals) and created the CHERRY XTRFY gaming brand to a new generation of high-performance keyboards, mice, and microphones for gamers.
First off is the MX 3.1 Keyboard featuring the new Cherry MX2A switches. The new device sports an aluminum housing for stability and durability, which Cherry also says helps with typing. The new cherry MX2A switches are an upgrade from the original MX2 design with precisely applied premium-grade lubricants and a new spring design for smoother actuation, improved acoustic profile, and a 100 million keystroke lifespan. Note other MX2A switches are available. You can find these keyboards in pink, white, and black, with all sporting RGB lighting on the keys and a unique pattern on the side.
The MX 3.1 will be available in Q2 2024 with an MSRP of $129.
Next we have some high end 8K wireless gaming mice (M64 and M68 Mouse Series) and a more affordable gaming mouse in the M50. The M64 and M68 evolved from the M4 and M8, but with the help of XTRFY, it was redesigned for better grip and control, lower weight, and higher performance. The Pro versions feature 8,000 Hz polling technology for smooth response.
Tje M50 and M50 wireless, on the other hand, feature a similar ergonmic shape, but adds RGB lighting with a lower polling rate, but still high, of 5,000 DPI.
Pricing varies starting at $99 for the M64 and M68 wireless, and $139 for the Pro versions. The M50 comes in at $49 and $69 (wireless). These will be available for purchase Q2 2024.
