Yep, you are going to take a lot of performance hits if you don´t have a DX 9.0 compliant card. Currently best score in the ORB with ti4600 is below 2000 points.

Best score ~5700 points, 02-11-2003 (I´m gonna save this one for future viewing) ;)

Best score 02-28-2008: 6865 marks, by Holicho (Radeon 9700 pro)

Well, soon will be the new 3dmark released! Early results shows that it will be hard task to exceed 5000 points.

Post your results here!

I have Ti-4200 and 2.4B and 2500-3000 points will be my target ;)

That's far from it I'm afraid. One HC-overclocker on finnish HW-site/forum posted a score of 4775. He has extremely overclocked P4 (over 4GHz) and 9700Pro.

you wont be able to run 3dmark with that video card, well only 3 tests and get an incomplete result

this just shows me you have little to no experience with 3dmark

with the old 3dmark, DX7 cards could only run 3/4 game tests and guess what, they still got a score, and that score was pretty representative of its power.....

edit:

Current Status:
1169 3dmarks

Same thing as running 3DMark2001 with DX7-card. One test will not run, but score is produced.

yes I know the old 3dmark didnt run nature test on directX7 cards, but that was one of 13 tests? 3 out of 13 is incomplete, 12 of 13 is pretty complete albet they penelize you. Even if 3dmark2003 gives a score for non directX 9 cards itll be less than 1/3 the score of a radeon9500 pro cause it gives a "zero" for tests it doesnt run and that factors into the average

then he needs to run 1024x768, not 1600x1200 with 4x FSAA

only the first 4 (or 7 if you consider the low and high quality benchies seperate) tests in 2001 counted towards the score, you can test this by turning everything except the game benches off

from what i have heard 2k3 will have less in the free version and as such most of the benchies that dont count for a score will be taken out :(

will directX8 cards report a score that they only run 3 benchmarks? thats not even 4, which is the minimum for 3dmark 2001se

"Hmm Mad Onion's site is already down."

They could be uploading already, or maybe too much traffic already! Looks like no ones getting 3dmark 2003 for a while

Just like 3dmark 2000 killed my old pentium 233 and tnt with a score of like 750! LOL 1000 points sounds low, I hope to hit 4000 or 15k in 3dmark 2001 once I set up my new rig today!

Can someone put up a link for the counter pls.. I lost it and the site is so slow, ill never find it through there..
