Not only this MS Vista horror, but in the next year both Intel and AMD are going to go through like, what? 2 Socket generations each?
So Joe Consumer, who wants to buy a PC today and gets one with a "Vista Ready" sticker on it will not only get a PC that is unable to run Vista, but also in all likelyhood a PC that, once Vista does hit, is 2 generations out of fashion. So his upgrade parts will either be impossible to find and/or cost triple their current price...
This is great news for us in the PC retail market. Not only do we have to learn 4 sets of new architecture in a year, we'll also have to take Judo lessons to survive the onslaught of angry customers once to brown stuff hits the fan.
