BTW. SAND EVERYTHING YOU CUT. I speak from experience. The cuts and the bleeding you can get are nasty.

Ok little update to Antec Case (2nd prize)

The inspiration for the design comes from both a recent event Antec attended (Insomnia), They had huge black and yellow banners above their booths. Its also a bit of a nod to someone that has been most supportive to us throughout.

The work took a little longer than anticipated, Connor couldn’t get a the desired finish on the test panels with the masking tape we had at hand. We used some adhesive plastic, which has 1cm grids on their..which helped alot!

as mentioned masking tape wasn't giving Connor a clean edge after painting, Time to make the template.

Forgot to grab some photos removing the template . Was very tense momnet. Connor and little sis slowly removed it and...































Success!


The camera angel gives the sense the lines are off, their not.

Literally just a few areas to clean up and its all done!








Next area he plans to work on is the side panel, recuts,sanding and continue the paint theme around the window.

OK then news,
apologies for the delay,

We had a “trolling” incident on our page , also some rather unpleasant messages sent to us . I wont go into details but it hurt..bad.

We had to take a little break and also Connor has been seeing his doctor , his current meds seemed to be making him worse than ever, We have had them changed but there is a transition period before he'll see the benefits meaning he just isn’t up to much the last few days.


Plans with some company’s have broken down.. and my phone (our only camera) is away for repairs...

nice, im not usually a fan of gold, but that looks pretty slick. i like the ram too. What cooler are you going to use? if its a big hefty heatsink you might have issues clearing the ram with heatsinks that tall.

keep up the good work.

Ooooo also you should make sure to get some cable sleeving stuff ( or pre sleeved extensions!) would be really nice to keep it all black and gold/yellow. if you havent already thought about doing that. ( i always find the multicoloured 24 pin etc always spoils the look/colour scheme of a build)

Yer defo go with some sleeving if you can swing it. Annoyingly Nils ( from MDPC) does the best sleeving, but i dont think he gives out free stuff, but its always worth a try. If its something Connor wanted to do himself, then Nils stuff is the best by far.

If not NZXT does some orite pre-sleeved stuff.( I'm using it in my build atm) and the rep skulks around the forum every so often. Who are you chatting to atm?

Now that Connor has One of the Two required CPU's, he was finally able to start assembling. The build was just a mock to test the other components he has had sat here for some time now!



Connors set about building the Fractal Rig Last night.
Only issue we have are 8pin and 24 pin cable length due to the size of the XL case...but that won't be an issue soon...

One thing i might suggest is switching the fan to the other side of the rad. A push will most likely yield better performance than a single fan pulling. (im guessing you didnt put 2 fans on because of space restrictions?)

XFX GPU competition now over and winner announced, Phew that was quick, Lots of really nice comments from the XFX community


Connor and his uncle attempted the side panel spray a little while ago, They tried using a new masking tape to avoid cutting lots of stencils/templates like he did with the front panel. Unfortunately, we don't know why but the tape just didn't work. The paint bled really bad...

They sent some paint over and help us "fix" it.



We're still planning to add Sponsor names on the side with some vinyl’s before adding a few coats of clear to seal it all and give it a nice glossy shine.

We'll tackle the respray this weekend hopefully

if you dont want to do the plastic again, Have a look in b&q for frog tape. Its a kind of green/yellow tape. But its great for stopping paint bleeding.
