CPU changed from 2200 to 1500??

I just got some artic silver paste and put it on my AMD XP2200, then booted up and the computer told me the CPU speed had changed - now it is a XP1500. What can I do to get it back to 2200?? Thanks...

set your fsb back to 133mhz.

set it to 133 cpu/133 fsb. you probably have it at 100/133

Thanks guys, all sorted now. I had to change a jumper on the motherboard to 133 - but this was on 100 before and it was showing as an 2200 - how ca applying some thermal paste change it all!?!?

the thermal paster didn't cahnge anything nless you spilled abunch on the bridges on the cpu, rather the board may have picked up on it after a few boots after you ahd put on the paste

Actually sounds like it was trying to boot back up in safe mode - after you had removed the cpu.
