Right, but that doesn't mean you are going to pirate it. The guy I was quoting seemed to be saying something like "if I can play online with an illegal copy, why would I buy it?"
from your earlier quote, nah not me personally.
i buy games if i like them...if i think they'll last me a while. (usually games with long campaigns - eg. Obilvion...GTA IV, or multipalyer games which will make the purchase worth it - COD4.
but don't you think this will give 'those kind of people' even more incentive to pirate the game?...i mean, since there's pretty much no multiplayer, all they will want to play is the single player...which in their mind, probably isn't worth $100 (here in Australia anyway).
if this game doesn't have a mulitplayer system like COD4 i guess i'll just be renting it overnigiht and see if i can finish it in 1 or 2 sittings.
just look at the price difference for Australians in the above post...it's crazy lol.
EDIT: i'd just like to put something else out there...
i'd say most gamers live in America, for COD4 anyway.
with this new match-making system, as i understand, everybody searching for a game will be put together and one will act as the host correct?
this will suck for anybody outside America (ping wise). of course there will be Australia hosts, but that means it'll pretty much be impossible to play through match making if the host and other players are from different countries.
imagine people in America trying to play off my 500kb/s download 100kb/s upload, 200ms ping speeds...or the other way around, imagine me trying to play off an American host, i'd probably get a ping of about 250ms...which means i will be dead before i turn the corner (on my screen) or when i go for a head shot, the bullet actually misses the opponent as they have moved an extra step forward.
