I have a question regarding expanding ethernet network by using wireless:

If i'm using a ethernet router with ethernet gigabit switch, how would performance be affected on wirelessly connected comps if i use a wireless router vs a access point? Any significant performance difference? Only the switch is connected to the wired router - so it's only used when going online. THe wireless router would be connected to the wired gigabit switch.

i don't see how it would really affect anything

wireless bandwidth won't even begin to touch 100 let alone 1000Mbit

either way , you should be fine

Wireless will be considerably slower. Regardless of the speed that is stated. Lost packets are very frequent and that is why it is slow. The technology is still fairly new.
