Hey guys!

I am proud to say that the Green Molecule build has been nominated for February 2015 Mod of the Month over on Bit-Tech. It's a great honor to be nominated along such awesome builds. Thank you :)

If you've enjoyed the build log so far please have a look at the nicely written article and cast one of your votes to show some love for my build, and stay tuned for more as I get closer to completing this build.

Here is a look at the water blocks I will be using. I'll have to admit I have had these photos for a while, just not sure why I didn't want to show them until now.

Firstly a look at the GPU blocks as well as the CPU block mounting frame and MB block before painting. The CPU and MB blocks were both showcased already painted in a previous post.

As you can see from the pics the blocks are EK FC670 waterblocks. These will fit some reference 970s with the short style PCB so I chose to keep my 670 waterblocks and continue to use them in this build.

Thanks for checking it out and please cast your vote for my build in the MOTM round-up :D

Cheers,

Alex

Hey guys,

Bit-Tech Mod of the Month Voting Thread - please show your love for my build :)

The custom res arrived from Clockwerk Case Mods and tonight I had some time to play around with it and take some cool photos. I hope you agree with me that this is the coolest res you've ever seen!

Here they are:

A quick comparison with the green on the front panel. I think it's a good mix. What do you guys think?

I think that's as many photos of a res that I can take haha. I couldn't help myself, it just looks awesome. Hope you've enjoyed it.

Big props to Jim over at Clockwerk Case Mods as he did an amazing job! Do go check out more of his work here! And while you're on Facebook check out my page too, Simple Modz!

Also Bit-Tech MOTM voting :D

Thanks a lot for checking it out guys. Stay tuned for more. Shouldn't be much longer now, I can see the light!

Cheers,

Alex

I just got the LEDs in and I don't really like the purple UV effect. It looks cool but I don't think I wanna have it on all the time. I will still take some shots and share it though I think I will get RGB LED strips so that I have more options :)

I think those would work better in this case :)

Might stick with the UV lights after all. Getting RGB will set me back around $150 and delay the build even more. It does look exactly like I imagined it and it has really grown on me. You will see soon enough.

For now here is an update on the cable management :D

XQJQ3aX.png

Hey guys,

Here is an update with the current state of the build. I managed to get all the cables in and did lots of cable management. Only cables missing are the GPU cables and the cable for the pump that will go in with the shroud.

Everything in the bottom will be covered by the shroud but that is pretty much where I have mounted the Aquaero and have all 7 fans connected to it. Also in the bottom I have a small PCB with six 3pin fan headers where I have connected the 4 LED strips that I'm using.

Please ignore the red SSD an HDD in the back as I will be getting new SSDs before the build is finished.

The clear acrylic is done for both side panels too. The SSD window was stuck using some double sided 3M tape and the main side panel windows was stuck with epoxy adhesive so it is on really tight and flush.

Also the custom reservoir is mounted too of course and it looks awesome in the case.

There is an LED strip hiding in the back there as well, you can just slightly see it. I also have one just behind the 360 rad in the top, just above the CPU and RAM area.

Hey guys,

This is my solution for covering the hole left by the original front panel connectors.

I had to paint the vinyl to match the green colour :)

Let me know what you guys think? I think it looks pretty good :D

Also you can see a quick tease of the UV lights inside the case :D

Look at the sleeving in the UV lights!
Creative solution to the old connectors, I like it

Looks great as usual! :D

Hey guys,

I decided to delid my 3770K that's going into this build. I want to be able to not run any fan at all while the PC at idle and even though this won't make any difference at idle it will surely give me that extra performance and better temps when overclocking. Plus I really wanted to try it out.

I followed the method used by DeeGee Tech and Hardware in this video. It's a really good video and explanation of the delidding process and shows one of the simplest ways to do it.

Was really easy to do, a bit scary but now that I've done it I will surely do it again to future chips :D.

I guess we will have to see how good the temps are once the loop is done. Unfortunately I won't be able to give a before and after, only the temps I was getting before the rebuild tho that did not have the Monsta rad in.

Thanks for checking it out.

Cheers,

Alex
