i changed my cpu cooler from valcano 6cu+ to slk800 and was thinking of using the v6 on another system so i took off the stuff that was on there and it frrls like there is machining grooves on it is this normal for v6es and shood i just lap it smooth or are the grooves suposed to b there

thanks for the help :)

it was probably machined bad, as most HSF's are. i expereinced
this on a volcano 7, and my thermalright ax-7 was machined BADLY.

just lap it, but you prob won't gain much on a v6.

I agree with what has been said by everyone. If you have doubts about the quality of the finish on the bottom of your sink, just lap it. The only time I wouldn't lap a sink is if it has a mirror finish (really really mirror).

ok thanks all i lapped it and will toss it on a freands system soon his temps are high and he needs it more then i do
besides i think i am going to make an ac unit for the 1800 that i have.

thanks
