they should just make it a single pin, its annoying when its dual pin cos (i don't have this problem, as i was asking around before and my PSU can do that for SLI) but a lot of people have a good PSU, but not enough connectors for SLI y'know.

Kinda bad if you wanna SLI, as you gotta buy a new PSU or get the right adapter.

Just my thought

They just need to put a dang AC plug on the cards so you can just plug them into a surge protector.

Sounds familiar.. Hmm..

Oh yeah:

DUDE!!! the voodoo 5 60000, 4 graphics chips with 32mb's per chip. that would have been a smokin card in it's day, MSRP was $600. if you luck into finding/getting a working prototype it would cost you about $1000. worth that much to colloctors...

Those external 12v power bricks only supply something like 50 watts :p I guess PSUs back then weren't quite as powerful as today's :p

P3 PSU's were 5v amp heavy,so a 450watt psu didnt have many amps on the 12v rail. 3DFX had to get ahead of the PSU makers at the time by including a laptop brick for powering the V5 6000. you will see modded V5 6000's with a 4pin molex so the power brick isnt needed.

From the Fud ..

Thanks to the nice tool of W1zzard, the chap that runs techpowerup.com, we managed to get you the real deal infos of Geforce GTX 280.

The card uses the GT200 codename, and is 65nm and as you can see it has 32ROPs, blazing 240 Shaders and, of course, it does support only DirectX 10, not the 10.1. Nvidia simply doesn’t like DirectX 10.1 and that’s it.

At the same time, the GTX 280 card works at 600MHz, memory works at 1100MHz (2200MHz effectively) while Shaders are happy at the 1300MHz clock speed.

With a 512-bit bus Nvidia can do 141.7GB/s, which is quite a lot of bandwidth for this 1024MB GDDR3 powered card. The card itself reminds us of an advanced Geforce 9800 GTX designed card with GX2 finish touch, but we've promised that we won't take pictures. People get upset when we take pictures of unannounced cards, as if they are an inappropriately dressed Britney Spears, so we didn’t take any.

EDIT: WOOOOO! Got me another star - up to 6 now :D
