Lets say like a 6 series or 7 series, or maybe an ATI 1800 performance wise?
All the benchys are all of comparable new cards, but how would a FAST old car stack up to a mid range new card?
For example:
My 9800 pro;
Core clock:380 MHz core o'ced to ~420
Memory Clock: 128 MB 340 MHz (DDR 680) @ 400/ 800ddr
Memory Interface: 256-bit
A 7800GT;
Core clock: 445MHz
Memory Clock: 1070MHz(effective)
Memory Interface: 256-bit
Now I know it has more memory and its a little faster, but they are hardware wise very similar.......
But software wise the 7800 has a ton more to do, they are very different as far as what they can do. The 7800 will make any game look MUCH better, thats common sence, but on the same token the 7800 will be bogged down more because it has that much more work to do.
Has anyone moved away from a 9800pro to a NEW mid range card? Any insite on speeds?
Thank you!
