hi,

I have a p4-2.4b processor, 80 gb barracuda HDD, ASUS Geforce3 t2 deluxe, 256mb DDR266.

what is the performance difference between 845e and 845g chipsets (533Mhz motherboards)?

As i want to use my AGP and not an inbuilt AGP that comes with 845g based motherboards. I want to know which of the 845e or 845g chipsets give better performance ?
Because if the performance is same, I can go for 845G chipset and use the inbuilt AGP for backup.

Please advice.

thanks

since you have already ddr266 you lose the only big advantage of boards based on the 845G chipset, which have the support for setting the multiplier to run memory at 333 speed.
this is all about the advantage you can check here: http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1624&p=1

anyway you might think is worth getting one and try to run memory overclocked.

just dont forget to compare reviews of the board you will decide to get, since this is the most important afterall.
