I have a QDI BX8V mobo with a p111 550 and 192mb pc100 ram.

i cannot overclock this, someone told me it is my mobo - is this true? - can i overcome this?

Sorry, I am not familiar with your motherboard, But... If you have jumpers on the board to change the fsb, or in bios, you can overclock it. If not, Your only hope would be to OC it by software, I beleive the link to the place to get the software is www.H-Oda.com & the name of the program is softfsb. I never used it, but perhaps others here have .
