Milestones Update

The ground in Kansas City has been snow covered and temps have been below freezing for the past week. While unusual it's not unheard of for KC and this week it looks like we'll be going back to the normal, street destroying, daily freeze/thaw cycle. We have a few new members to the Milestones this week including a new team member. It's always good to see new names on the Overclockers.com team raster!

QuietIce slid by the 12,500,000 Milestone!

Ivailo Bonev crunched past the 7,000,000 Milestone!

N-Zane-B raced past the 6,000,000 Milestone!

ocfolders grabbed the 3,000,000 Milestone!

cjc_75 made the 2,500,000 Milestone while sliding into the Top 40!!

Careface and
The Four Horsemen also cruised by the 2,500,000 Milestone!!

Pablo_ARG and
monkey both crunched by the 1,500,000 Milestone!!

ChAyOs00 passed the 1,250,000 Milestone!

The_Silent1 made the 600,000 Milestone!

Eric and
Bryan Glenn both took the 400,000 Milestone!!

bbergeson made the 300,000 Milestone while sliding into the Top 175!!

:welcome: to
OC_SETI1.PNG

RandyH is a new member of our team slotting in above the 5,000,000 Milestone in the Top 20 at 20th Place!!
Randy is an Old Time cruncher having started in Nov 2000 and he runs a 14 unit farm including 4 Xeons quads.

Tom Woolford started crunching in Nov '06 and has made the 6-Digit Club!
Tom runs an AMD X2 5400+ and, looking at his RAC, runs a few GPUs on it.

krazykraut is also a new member of the 6-Digit Club!
krazykraut started crunching in July and runs an E2160 part-time.

Congratulations! to all our Milestone Makers!

I've been averaging 4k a day since I went to using 2 GPU only instead of CPU/GPU. 24/7 but it looks like it may be the best I can do considering I also play games and some games don't like sharing resources.

I expect to join the 500k club on or within a day of my birthday if BOINC doesn't go dry at all.

How much of an increase did GPU only give you?

Way to crunch everyone! My #1 rig finally claimed a spot in the top 10 in the world (#8 to be exact) I'm hoping my #2 rig will make it up into the top 30 as well.

The 2009 Milestones have seen huge boosts to our overall output both as a Team and as individuals. As a final chapter on this year I give you the Leaderboard stats for our first entry of 2009 and our last entry of 2009. I've also included some points totals as well, just for fun! :)

Overclockers.com Team.. 361,185 (345,236)..7th DAC in the World! <- 1 January 2009

Overclockers.com Team.. 629,074 (663,709) 6th DAC in the World! <- 27 December 2009
(BTW - we re-took 5th Place this week!)

1 Jan 2009 to 10 Jan 2010
approximate one-year totals
(in millions of Cobblestones)

Overclockers.com Team - 200

Razorface - 24
btoups - 15
Duner - 8
muddocktor - 7
QuietIce - 7
Codeman05 - 7
RuthlessRufus - 7
and way too many to count in the 3-5 million range.
:comp:

We also had several Heavy Hitters joining us this year:
SameOldFatMan, holding onto 2nd Place, is still fighting EVIL trying to get back into second in DAC/RAC. :fight:

Al Stein (aka startrekforever) jumped in at 9th Place and quickly moved up to 6th Place crunching about 4M Cobblestones in his short time here so far.
And he changed his name!

And recently RandyH jumped on-board at 20th Place with an 11K DAC. Nice!

OC_SETI1.PNG
It takes ALL of us to make a Team!
Yes, the Big Boys on the team do a lot of the crunching but only about half of our output comes from the Top 20 or so producers - the other half comes from the other 200+ active members, many of them crunching on older rigs or just crunching part-time.
These people often go unnoticed and I'd like to thank them for making this team what it is! :attn:

It's been a great year for the Overclockers.com SETI Team and, with plenty of luck and hard work, next year will be just as exciting as this one! :salute:

BTW - Here's the link to the 2010 Milestones! ;)
