Milestones Update

Weather in KC has been interesting this past week. We had an Indian Summer most of last week with highs in the 70s, then last night it snowed about an inch. Welcome to Kansas City! :)
I've decided to make a few changes in the Milestone reporting. The top end of our points has gotten rather stratospheric so after 10M I'll report 12.5M, 15M, 17.5M, 20M, then every 5M after 20M. At the bottom end I'm eliminating the 150,000 Milestone. As it stands 100K is at #276 and the 200K mark is at #204, so there's not much of a gap and both are well below the original Top 200 bottom end. Razorface starts us out with the new scheme!

Razorface has blazed the Big 30,000,000 Milestone!

muddocktor is the first to tally the 17,500,000 Milestone!

eaglescouter, over 10 7 years, has crunched past the 10,000,000 Milestone!

Duner and
AlexHk both zoomed past the 8,000,000 Milestone!!

RuthlessRufus marked the 7,000,000 Milestone!

pixie and
rfrman both took the 4,000,000 Milestone!!

BrightMorn and
Sephis had a round at the 3,000,000 Milestone!!

Harold CHAPMAN cruised by the 2,500,000 Milestone!

Brandon McDaniel and
Chris both nodded the 1,500,000 Milestone!

ktoth04 pushed up into the Top 75!

Intel P4 [email protected] GHz is the newest member of the 7-Digit Club!

CryptokiD and
jmorgan both passed the 750,000 Milestone making the Top 100!!!!

Eric Martin strolled past the 600,000 Milestone!

Rebturtle made the 400,000 Milestone while sliding into the Top 150!!

e6600 flew past the 300,000 Milestone and landed in the Top 175!!

Zaratul crunched past the 250,000 Milestone!

bbergeson and
Thideras, both joining us from the Folding Team, made the 200,000 Milestone and the Top 200!!!!

extractr slid past the 200,000 Milestone!

Nice work everyone:thup:

I'm running off to help the Rosie Team for a couple weeks... I shall return.:salute:

10 years for me? That means that OCF helped me build my first pc about 10 years ago!

Congratulations all for their milestones, and it's good to see AbitAvenger on the charts again :)
My bad - I thought you were with SETI@Home from the beginning? But I just checked and it says Dec 2002 ... oops! :-/

Guess I was one of the few that started SETI@Home in 1999 with the screen saver. Too bad I didn't keep up with it ...

Sorry, but no, I did not know about OCF and SETI back in the SETI Screen Saver days. However I have been continuously crunching since I did join the project. :comp:

You obviously boosted your farm with something! Good to see you back in the Top 10 again ... :)

Yeah, I retired one box that was flaky (would not turn on most of the time) and then attended the AMD road show. So now I'm running a shiny new AMD quad with integrated ATI graphics that is capable of crunching if SETI ever gets around to sending out any appropriate work units again.

:welcome: aboard, SOFman :) Hope you enjoy your stay :D

Lot's of horsepower around here these days, it's getting difficult to make it onto this list.

Uhg, you're telling me! If only I could time travel - my 13k RAC might actually make it to the list, but now? Not a chance!

Not that I'm complaining, of course :) Next team milestone at 1/2 billion, lets do eeet! :rain:

ohhhhhh.. we have shiny new emotes!

Milestones Update

We seem to have a shorter Milestones list than normal this time. Several people have been running the Rosetta RAC Harvest these past couple of weeks and there has been a little SETI problem over the weekend as well. Weather in KC has been great - temps in the 50-60's is just right for crunching without having to run the furnace! We've got a new name at the top of our list this week ...

SameOldFatMan has jumped into our list above the 20,000,000 Milestone and in 2nd Place!!

Rick has slipped past the 5,000,000 Milestone!

Toomnymods crunched by the 4,000,000 Milestone!

Levi found a new spot in the Top 40!

RAdZer0 crashed the 2,000,000 Milestone!

ktoth04 cruised by the 1,250,000 Milestone!

Robert Pollard is the newest member of the 7-Digit Club!

WangFei raced past the 750,000 Milestone!

Eric cleared out space in the Top 150!

Chris Schaeffer made the 300,000 Milestone!

bbergeson,
Thideras, and
Bob Keifer had a party at the 250,000 Milestone!!!

prodrivetom made it back into the Top 200!

SameOldFatMan is the newest member of our team and has been crunching since Dec '02!
SameOldFatMan hides his machines but his RAC speaks for itself. (see below)

Forgotton is the newest member of the 6-Digit Club!
Forgotton has been crunching since September and runs an E8400 and a 945.

Good job everyone!

Wow! We've got a dead heat between our two newest transfers, Al Stein and SameOldFatMan! Great going guys!!!

Obviously the work slow-down (and it's back-lash) has effected everyone. We dropped 60K in RAC but still managed to eek out the KWSN for 5th Place ... :)

Wow, it really has affected our RAC o_O the numbers for Top 10 DAC have fallen somewhat... in fact, depending on which week you take the numbers across, I could possibly have slipped on the list..

according to BOINCStats, 15-21st November DAC = 11,489, or 22-28th November DAC = 10,279.. which means I was just edged out!

Guess I'll just have to find a way to up production ;)

EDIT: Well, just updated gfx drivers to 195.62 WHQL, and am using the CUDA 3.0 Beta dlls now. I'll post back after work tonight (1am my time, ~12hours from this post) and let you know if theres any performance change :) clocks are staying the same at 702/1512/1045, so any changes will be driver (191.07->195.62) or CUDA dlls (2.3->3.0beta). Sweet!

Well, with only some minor hiccups with the new 195.62 drivers (not detecting secondary display), it appears that after ~12 hours of solid crunching, the CUDA 3.0 beta dlls are giving me ~50-70sec decrease in crunch times on ~0.43 AR WU (~690sec with CUDA 2.3dlls -> ~625sec with 3.0 beta dlls) So overall, I'd say they're worth it. I'll keep an eye on the nvidia site to see when they come out of beta (as I'm sure there are going to be problems with the dlls at some stage), and hopefully might even see some more performance increases :)

Either way, not too shabby I think :)

I don't know, beta dlls scare me so I think I'm going to stick with the current release for now.

Shame I've got to slowly wait for my RAC to come back as my pending credit starts to validate...I've got about 20k pending credit just sitting there screaming at me from the past 3 days :rain:

I should be hitting the 100k mark in a few days if the download servers play nice.

By the way, anyone notice that our 5th place team thats sorta keeping up with the rest of the top 5 teams has 1000+ active members less....makes me wonder what our RAC would be with 1000 members...

The closest real competitors we have as far as RAC/member is Team Starfire, the #14 team, and BOINC Synergy, the #7 team, in a distant third. Team Starfire has about 50% more active members and runs just over 1200 DAC/active member. BOINC Synergy has about double and runs just over 900 DAC/member.

Our average DAC per member is ~2450 ... :D
